Il 22 ottobre Wikileaks ha pubblicato circa 400.000 rapporti di soldati americani riguardanti gli eventi della Guerra d'Iraq tra il 2004 e il 2009.
La quantità di documenti pubblicati rende la vicenda la più grande fuga di notizie dell'esercito americano. I documenti riportano più di 109.000 morti durante il periodo 2004-2009, tra cui 66.000 civili.
Le annotazioni descrivono scene di tortura e di abuso, che pare siano state commesse dai soldati iracheni.
